Welcome to ROVER, the State of Georgia's official service for ordering certified copies of Georgia vital event records. This service is offered by the Georgia Department of Public Health, Division of Vital Records. The Division of Vital Records did not begin recording and filing vital records until 1919. If your search is for an event occurring prior to 1919, then you should contact the vital records department in the county in which the event occurred.

ROVER offers a certified copy of a birth or death certificate for a $25 search fee plus an $8 processing fee. These fees are NON-REFUNDABLE. You may order additional copies at the same time for $5 each.

Orders are shipped directly from Georgia's State Office of Vital Records. After all required documentation is received, most orders take from two to four weeks to be shipped. Expedited processing and shipping are available for an additional fee of $10 per order. Expedited orders take up to five business days to be shipped via UPS and can only be sent to the 50 USA states and the District of Columbia. Expedited orders cannot be shipped to post office boxes, military posts, nor international addresses.

In order to request a certificate online, you will be required to upload a copy of your official photo ID. Depending on your relationship to the person named on the certificate, additional supporting documentation may be required.

Should you have questions, please refer to the FAQs or contact the Vital Records Call Center at 404-679-4702.
